I can't take this shit seriously when Bruno Mars is the most nominated artist. Niggas always begging for some mainstream artists to pop up at these shows.

now THAT is what I said earlier in the thread
they have nominated Adele, Sam Smith, now Bruno
trying to get white viewers
but niggers wanna focus on Bey because of this crabs in a barrel mentality

Guys stop

You know it's unfair

I mean what r u saying then for girls like Jazmine?

That there's no hope? Give up, or keep making music even tho u KNOW you'll keep getting snubbed?
If you love music
you shouldn't be in it to win awards
but its not Bey's fault that BET keeps putting her in categories based on popularity

I actually agree with this
The Soul Trains is supposed to be catered to the the R&B/Soul acts who are otherwise overlooked and unrecognized at the EBT Awards and every other show.
says who?
sssssss

Im guessing the creators... The awards and categories originally have always been catered to "Soul" artists.  Now you get Rih n Ariana Grande in the noms, with Ledisi n the gorls performing n looking confused in the audience.

Thats sad...

Reminds me of when Led' was replaced at the Grammys

I kinda understand the fumes

Soon these gorls won't have a pot to piss in

iman

You know what... Now that i think about it, where can the Urban AC artist go

Young

I wouldn't be surprised if these soul awards and artist are almost non existent.

Why would a label sign and invest in an artist who they know won't bring any profit?

MelMel

Miranda

They SLAYED when they nominated QUEENDY though.

originally Aretha, Patti, Whitney, Anita etc used to clean-up
they have always given awards to the BIG names
its just that now R&B as a whole is flopping so they throw Bey in with 4 flops at random

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE BEY & RIH.
They're easily in my top 5 Queens list. But they're mainstream.

And I just feel bad for my Monica's , Tamar's, Brandy's Tamias, Jazmines etc.

They stay true to R&B and shouldnt feel defeated before they even CREATE an album
Because they know the labels and award shows are going to slight them.
It hurts me tbh. I can see how they'd lose drive and motivation. I mean, I would. Or I'd sell out. Or else the label might drop you anyway. The music industry just sucks.
Sick of these whites and coons in power.

iman

And I'm lowkey feeling some type of way about Abel snatching these R&B categories tbqfh

I mean, "Earned It" is understandable but his album? Nah

I liked the 2010 show tho. They had all the R&b artists perched.
