I can see a certain type enjoying this movie.  I think this is the type of movie my mom will really like.  I'll recommend it to her

Not being shady. It was just kinda basic imo. My mom likes those straight to the point movies that don't require a whole lot.  I can't see my mom enjoying an inception kinda feature. Plus she always wants to see "a good black movie". She'll definitely like this

This action film's lack of originality and cleverness is made worse by a self-defeating visual style and overuse of music.  Proud Mary is a style-less exercise that wastes some talent.

Those flaws are all behind the camera, starting with the awful cinematography by Dan Laustsen. The editing is also problematic, as action scenes (and even dramatic ones) too often end several beats too soon. The cadences are off-putting and rushed; numerous times the acting or the action was so involving that I wanted to spend more time within the scenes.
