If her results 0% Asian, chances are there's no roots in Asia .

But that wasn't the case.

They guessed I had ancestry in Southeast Asia AND DNA supports their guess.

That's where it becomes solid. And not just a THEORY.

Which is what I think you guys are trying to get at in here. (Reliance on theories as opposed to fact)

I admit that in the past I was relying too much on theories and not enough fact, and I admit that's my fault. I take that and I own it. We probably wouldn't be here talking about what's what if I hadn't been world traveling on this DNA mess hopping from one theory to the next. I'll eat that L.

The biggest mistake I made was not getting my grandmother tested MUCH sooner.  They say the greatest resource for stuff like this are grandparents if they're living. I literally waited two years and I could have had the answers I was looking for.

I found her father's  family and everything soon as I got her DNA. Her LIVING relatives. Instead of people back from 1866

I got her results toward the end of the December and had facts lined up by the New Year.

While we're in here talking about it I'll take this opportunity...
Might as well get it while the getting is good and talk more about my experience lol 

My grandmother didn't know much about her father's side of the family (where this heritage actually comes from)

I got to see and interact with her LIVING relatives on that side for the first time. It meant a lot to me.
Close relatives. Not her 5th or 6th cousin lol.

Before all I really had was that pic of her grandmother . I know ya'll were tired of seeing it but it meant a lot to me.
Seeing them all really made me complete. I cannot explain it but I am finally at peace with this all now.
