What she said has truth but ...

She basically went after puppets and failed to acknowledge the influence of the puppeteers.

It's ultimately a cycle that is bought into by many.

The men on the CD covers aren't the ones in control and running things. No matter how many of their songs claim they are.

If you wanna dig in, DIG in. Don't half ass it.

But you don't think that has anything to do with the big wigs at record companies or radio companies wanting to showcase that side of black life, though. TI admitted that he talked so much about selling drugs at the beginning of his career because he was encouraged to do so.  And he came from the hood and was just happy to keep his mama's lights on.

Not saying that it 's right at all.  A lot of these people have checkered pasts, but now they are working hard to do positive things for their communities.  You can't just ignore the good, and only focus on the bad.

Also, a lot of these guys in the pic like Swiss Beatz, Puffy, Big Sean have never presented those kinds of stereotypes in their music.   She just lumped them all together.
