Bey doesn't really "dance" though. She just pops, twerks, swings hair, etc. She does it damn good, but I never considered her to be a dancer.

Yeah she is more of a prancer.  Not intricate choreography with smooth lines and technique like real dancers.  There is a diff between what she does and say a Janet or Mya.

Of course there's a difference because those other girls are dancers, not singers.

You have your singers
You have your dancers

....then you have people like Beyonc? who find a balance between both. If her material required little to no vocal strength then her routines would obviously be different. Plus as much as some of you say she likes to copy pieces of "insert female artists who do intricate blah here" choreo from time to time that makes it pretty obvious she has the ability to pull off their mess.

She doesn't need to turn her performances into a workout-aerobics-drill routine. But if she wanted to she could. But I honestly wouldn't use as much if she did.
Dancing is much more than that.

Have yall notice Beyonce has kinda been doing the same routine since DIL era. She has about 10 moves total and they just slow it down/speed it up/rearrange a bit. But all in all its the same stuff.

I always thought Kelly was a better dancer to be honest.

I agree, I think that's part of being an artist and knowing your strengths.  Most of the talented dancers are not the greatest vocalists, and vice versa.  But I also don't think Beyonce is the greatest dancer simply because of a lack of natural ability.  She has come a long way and entertains me dancing, but I would never consider her a gifted dancer.

A person that lacks natural ability to dance is someone like Tinashe and she exhibits it the way it always seems like a cheerleading routine.
Its quite cringe worthy to watch most of the time.
