I don't think she really gathered his logic.
She just seems to know how to back people into a corner. Bring slavery into it. Bring their momma into it. Their grandmother. Ask them questions that they cannot say no to.
I could wake up tomorrow and decide...
hey, you know what, I deserve a raise from my job. I deserve it because I'm Black and I that's how I know I'm not getting paid enough. Period.
Now, if I were to tell my Black coworkers my thoughts and they said, "Umm I think your salary's fair and pretty much the average in the market, based on your qualifications."
Using Mo'Nique's tactic , my rebuttal would be "Do you have a Black cousin? Have you heard of slavery? Have you tasted a raisin in the sun? Strange fruit.", etc.
Pretty much make them feel bad for even moving to question me. Instead of directly coming for their logic.

Jesus Christ you?re so smart
i love this post. This analogy has me pissing
As much as u love anti monique sentiment right now
Thats wrong
Monique does represent someones mama or cousin who is experiencing inequality
And what makes her fight different from the fight in ur own family why shun them for standing up
U must feel like u are separated if injustice at ur backdoor feels different than ur neighbors its all connected and its all just as disheartening
Her tactic is how would u feel and what would if this issue hit close to home
U wouldnt tell urself let it go u wouldnt tell urself im wrong u wwouldn't tell ur self to shut up and take it so why is it different with her?
And the both of yall can barely let paragraphs on a message board go and shut up and take it so
Just imagine
