I had someone tell me the other day, "50k salary! That's a lot of fucking money!"

Well, that isn't a lot to me. Especially in NYC. After all that taxes gets you.
:dead:

But the IDEA of "alot of money" is relative... it always is. And always will be.
But is it fair in terms of comparisons to non-black contemporaries is the question...

It?s up to the recipient to decide if it?s fair.

Pay is up to how good your rep can negotiate for you.

I totally agree.
A 700k deal could be fair to one person and not the other.

But when I say fair... I mean...
comparable to what a non-black actress would get, given resumes, circumstances, and norms, etc.

I get that too.
But then we have to go back and discus how female comedians are like female rappers. There aren?t many of them that are popping mainstream and they never have a long shelf live at the top.

Amy is literally the only 1 that got that deal worth that much and that was based on her sold out worldwide arena tour. We have to see someone else do it before we can ask why they can?t get what she got.
Tiffany is off to a good a start with an HBO special, a Netflix show (she?s exec producing) and a TBS show + 2 new movies.

I'm glad you're seeing more than ONE side of this.

And perhaps Tiffany can be the person to showcase what can be...
If she does what Amy does... will her price be 5 million or 15 million?
It's yet to be seen.

Futhermore, we still don't have figures of what the black women are getting.

A lot of money could be just be 800k, for all we know. All assumptions, really.
While a white counterpart might get 1.8 million.
Which DOES make a difference.

I just wish Mo'Nique's big mouth wasn't in front of a REAL issue.

The tweet Tiff replied to implies she got a couple of million. Which I believe is fair and in line with where she is right now. It?s up to Tiff to stay busy and do shows so she has receipts to take with her to the meetings.

Amy started with a low offer too and was able to instigate a bidding war and add over double the offer into the final deal.

Unless Tiffany discloses her amount, everything is an assumption.
But like I believe, Mo'Nique needs not to be at the 'forefront' of this real issue.

I doubt Tiff will disclose it because it?s unproffesional and nobody likes a bragger.

See how Nique said she makes a mill a year and soon after the IRS came knocking  :plzstop:

For all we know, it could be 1.6 million. Wonder Woman actress was paid 200k for her role. So... like, we don't know the number. And what it takes for one's family be "ok for a min".
But like I believe, Mo'Nique needs not to be at the 'forefront' of this real issue.

Assumptions.
But it's besides the point, because there is no said figure.
So us debating over it is useless.
