Whether or not we may agree with her approach generally speaking, her approach is absolutely necessary for Trina amd Gabe. They have been to counselling many times and still no progress apparently. Iyanla herself even unearthed a lot of things that Trina didnt know her sons felt for over a decade. So she's doing something right. Trina's thick skull is only getting bigger and thicker and she needs a wake up call, a different approach.

Iyanla did an amazing job with them. When those clips are sliced and diced up, it paints a totally different picture. She spoke calmly 90% of the time during the whole thing.

Stuff like that gives therapists, Psychotherapists, psychiatrists, etc. a bad reputation because people who are gullible tend to believe that?s the way they are when that?s not the case at all. I?m saying this as someone who is studying Psychology and have a strong knowledge of the field.

I think it's pretty obvious that Iyanla is pretty extreme in her approach.

Don't think anyone thinks therapists walk around using Ebonics as they conduct their sessions and mess.
