There are interviews (remember the ones y'all kept criticizing Kim for speaking about Nicki in?) where she expresses that she wishes Nicki and them would tell what happened instead of letting her look like she's lying about behind he scenes mess.

And the public isnt running with a narrative of Nicki dissing Cardi, she has been dissing Cardi.
