Yeah guys, I think the world kind of feels like it's closing in you at times because how connected we are.
But on the flip side, we talk about everything from sex, music, politics, race, film and everything else under the sun and then you log out and try to connect with other human beings about those same topics and it's like dealing with a bunch of toddlers.
Social media (the internet in general) can be both a negative and a positive.
Yeah ur right, I agree. It's really about balancing both those aspects. I just find that it's more difficult to run across people who are able to have those type of discussions in a non-harmful way. The negative BS is running rampant.
I also get super annoyed with the commodification of language or discourse on issues. The folks who claim to be about discussing these concepts or being more positive on SM usually are regurgitating something they heard/learned from someone else. Most folks on either side of the social media spectrum (good or bad) are emulating someone else. It's like folks are losing their own authenticity or never discovering it solely for the sake of being socially included or in.
