i think i just needed to step away and calm down for a bit.

but now that i'm able to make more sense of it all...i def will take a lil time to learn more about Native culture and history. i know that Grandma Chief wanted us to know ALL of who we are....which is why she told my grandmother.

My grandmother never really made a huge deal about it though. She was never running around acting like she was Indian and doing chants and mess... And the funny part about that is that she's clearly genetically more Native than a lot of those 0.18393% white "Indians" running around in costumes, doing full blown pow-wows and making up tribes.

I always knew about Grandma Chief and her heritage, from a child. but I never really cared that much to be all into it until the ancestry era.  

But its pretty cool to know that it's actually real. I'm still Black and proud but I won't forget to honor this piece of my family history. I know Grandma Chief would want me to keep it alive in some way. 

It definitely gives you a sense of feeling connected to your ancestors, even if you've never met them. There's a lot of mystery on my grandmother's  paternal side. Doing this would definitely help to unlock some of that. Let me go order it now

So I decided to look on my GED Match again, but made sure to use the more global/world databases, ya know being mixed and stuff.

All these results keep tryna tell me I'm Asian/Middle-Eastern. 

But omfff I see Siberian too in the bottom one...and KhoiSAN. Hey Af, Cuz.

u gotta be careful with GEDMatch

some of the calculators are specifically designed to be more bias to certain categories.

I waited til I had a sample from my father's side to really compare the results ...for this test, then my own results as well.

and then compared my results to Grandma

theres no known native ancestry or family members on his side so if Asian and mess woulda popped up for that side of my family i woulda been skeptical about accuracy.

also, if my grandmother is showing 10% "Asian" ancestry and I come out with 26% that woulda been sketchy as well.
