yes its a black cast but not a black story you are supposed to see past their skin color like you do with the white ones and enjoy the film for what it is
but
to say that this is the prequel to the purge and all these blacks are involved is kind of odd considering the subsequent purges (after prequel) didnt involve them too much
... that actually makes sense to me tho Lew
we don't know the full premise yet, but like Bre said... if they started a Purge today, what would spark it?
I mean they already halfway are Purging us between cop shootings and schools
what we see with the Blacks in this movie might actually explain the lack of blacks in the later films. Might be dead or imprisoned.
and a civil rights/race-minority riot theme actually goes along perfectly with the premise of Purge, even more than the first one. I was actually wondering what sparked the actual "Purge"
you never know how deeply a screenwriter thinks about these things, and it could be a reflection of the beginning stages on what's happening in America
QuoteThe Republican will run for reelection in three years time and believes he has the perfect hook to re-ignite the passion of his voters: "Keep America Great" - the tagline of 2016 horror film The Purge: Election Year.
When asked what the slogan would be, he told The Washington Post: "Are you ready?" 'Keep America Great,' exclamation point.
"Get me my lawyer," he adds in the recording before telling someone in the room to trademark the line.
