When your singing and dancing MIMICKING black people in blackface, it's offensive, period.
Whether your imitating a singer, band whatever, you are mimicking a BLACK person at the end of it all.
Or is it because they're kids on a TV show it's innocent?
They didn't need to be in blackface to mimic an already famous band, when a simple costume and the SONG choice would've made it obvious who they are impersonating in the first place

I think what they did was tasteful and not the true black face of the past, which overly exaggerated black features and hair in a way to ridicule and make fun of black people. That is the difference, mimicking someone is not bad, and not racist, and is often just a form of entertainment. This is common in entertainement, rather Madea (a man as a woman) or White Chicks, it is just entertainment. Now if they had dreads and prosthetic noses and large lips this would be a different discussion.
