Missy's strength never truly lied in her lyricism IMO. She was a gimmick in the absolutely BEST way possible.
Not a bad gimmick, a good one.

We'd never really seen a rapper hopping on Timbo's beats. And he wasn't handing them out like candy to other rappers . So it automatically put her in her own lane.

That combined with the amazing visual she'd give, it just popped.

But I agree that now , she came back with "I'm Better"...it was cute, but it did seem as if she was trying to keep up a bit.

She doesn't really have that RAW ass down in the DIRT lyric prowess to fall back on, like Nicki does.
She literally has to find a new gimmick.

I've skimmed through a couple of them...

Missy can GO a bit. Her raps were always cute and her flow was nice.

I just would never bring her to the table with Shim, Fox and Nicki if raw, relentless and flat out ruthless lyricism was the topic of discussion.

IMO Missy never was on Fox's or Kim's level lyrically . Not even in the same ballpark. But she still slayed the scene.

THIS! Makes no sense how she was so futuristic with it and now late af... she needs to travel the world and get inspired by different sounds, cultures and experiences... she needs to take Tim too b/c they relied on different cultural sounds to keep their sound fresh...
