Robert Glasper Accuses Lauryn Hill Of 'Stealing Music' For 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' Album

Jazz savant Robert Glasper joined The Madd Hatta Morning Show on 97.9 in Houston for an interview Monday (Aug. 13), making bold accusations that Lauryn Hill "stole music" for her acclaimed album Miseducation album, treats members of her band unfairly, and can't even tune a guitar.

Glasper claims that when he played the piano in her band for a short 2008 gig, the "Ex-Factor" artist had strict rules such as not making eye contact, addressing her as Ms. Hill, and even threatened to cut the band's pay in half because she was unhappy with the way they were "learning the music."

"You've already stolen all of my friends' music. Miseducation was made by great musicians and producers that I know personally. You got a big hand off of music you didn't even write," the multi-Grammy Award winner says. "Those songs were written by other people and they did not get their credit."

"She likes to take credit so she can become this super person. If you're a super person, and you're that talented, do it. You feel me? She couldn't tune her guitar in rehearsal," he adds of the 2008 gig. "You haven't done enough to be the way you are. You just have not. The one thing you did that was great, you didn't do."

Billboard reached out to Hill's reps for comment.
