I loved 3 and Womanizer but bitch I swore Slave 4 U was like her biggest hit. 

How did she start booking #1's so suddenly that late into her career?

They claim radio wouldn't play her mess so she didn't get the chart success she deserved, but then she had that breakdown and everybody felt sorry for her so they let up on her.
