Are these all black models from the 90s?

Wow.

She's not in the pic, but my mum had and still has a HUUUGE photo of Katoucha on her wall, she was Saint Laurent's first muse
She was like THEAfrican Queen next to Iman back then, my bf is actually related to her.

Bethann Hardison (Kadeem Hardison/Dwayne Wayne?s mother) was a model in the sixties-seventies.  She started the Black Girls Coalition because they weren?t given the same exposure, even in the 90?s.

Here?s another picture where I see Peggy Dillard.  Kersti Bowser was also in it, but I can?t make her out in the first pic.

ACKKKKKKK!  When I tell you I loved Katoucha!  She and Sonia Cole were ubiquitous on EVERY runway back then.  They didn?t do many photoshoots, but they were at all the shows in the 80?s and 90?s.  Two of my favs!  :gorlonfire:

They were truly queens back then.  Regal af.  :stressed:

Bitttttt don?t get me started on models from that era.

Tyra said there was just a shoot of her, Naomi & Iman and the photographer still hasn't released it after all this time
:guys:
It was the shoot where Iman brought all the girls together

What's the name of the Kenyan model?
She's like one of the MOST beautiful women I've ever fucking seen, she's from the 90's and I think she was Mugler's muse?

Saddened to hear when she died.   :'(

Another African Queen was Khadija Adams.  Beautiful heffa.  :omgwatshappening:

Yves Saint Laurent loved her.  She was one of a couple of black muses he had.

I never realized how relevant Cynthia was until I began seeing pics like this one, with her perched among Naomi and Tyra and 'em.

Cynthia wasn?t on their level, but black models stuck together back then.  Bethann had her own agency and was a huge advocate back then.  Several fashion designers LOVED black girls, so they always included them.

We got phased out in the mid-90?s.
