I remember that thread about the white gay couple adopting all those black kids and I was one of the people arguing in favor of them having the children.

That was pre-Trump era. I don't know how I feel about it now. And then seeing these pictures. I just don't trust THEM.

Serious question tho, was cotton-picking the worst of the things slaves had to do? Since they did ALL physical labor, what makes this act worse than cooking and cleaning?

I don't think there were any things which were "better" or "worse"

The fact that it was all forced labor is what made it disgusting - even if someone was simply sweeping a floor or tucking in the Master's child at night.

This mini-series is amazing.

It takes the story of slavery from Africa, to the South, up to the North (where many Blacks were free), and up further to Canada (Nova Scotia)..

I was scared that it'd be another "slave movie" but I still gave it a chance. I'd recommend having Kleenex ready for part one. But after that it's very entertaining (up until the very end...but you'll be crying tears of joy at that point beautiful ending to the story.)
