I find it weird that people think taking "breaks" from a website will fix their real life problems.

Ppl are built differently and i think sometimes folks downplay the impact that being an online "family" for so long can have on someone.

If someone decides this place is negatively affecting them i have no choice but to understand because thats their experience.

This place IS social media.  I was just talking to glock about this the other day. Everyone aint built to survive this shit. U need a strong sense of self to withstand summa this and everyone ain't able.

A lot of internet culture isn't the most positive.

People always speak about comments on ShadeRoom - how the people leaving comments are miserable, mean, inappropriate have no lives, etc.

But honestly people could look at this place the same as well considering its content.  It's understandable how people may see this as a negative place.

But ultimately, it's up to that person to sit and read it, engage in it, or log off. It's gonna keep going whether you put your two cents in or not.

Yeah I would never let this board mess with me so much that I have to leave.  Like ppl come for me or talk about me but at the end of the day I'm a grown man with a life outside here.  Once I exit a thread what was said stays there. I don't bring it with me day to day to where I need to leave an online site.

Though as someone else said others get super invested and mentally cant handle it so they have to a " I'm leaving thread grrrrrr " but yeah Anyway no shade to anyone who has done thAt lolz

I will say though, it is kinda crazy how long many of us have been interacting with each other.

I'd be lying if I said you guys haven't had an influence on how I see a lot of shit. Me becoming more woke to the ways & realities of the world and people in general, especially when it comes to race, is largely because of BSource.

I think some people aren't honest with their actual opinions. Simply put the actions of some members don't align with that who "don't affect me" "stronger than yesterday" shtick. The board is negative. Yes that is the culture but just like turning on the news and seeing bad shit constantly can have a negative impact on your psychological wellbeing so does logging on to a social media platform constantly seeing disgusting appalling behavior as well. It is what it is. Some individuals have feelings whether it's online or irl. They don't log onto to excape reality but like I said it is what it is.
