Eh, I think when I was a teen and early 20s it was difficult to let shit go. Always had to prove my perspective was legit, especially if I felt like I was more in the know.

On here I think I've been my most argumentative during the social justice issues with Mike Brown, Trayvon, Tamir etc. I really was laying into ppl and arguing with folks who were committed to not understanding. No disrespect also but the niggas I used to argue with have come full circle so that speaks to my next point.

I think I've learned to just accept that some folks just wont get certain things and that's where they are in their own journey. It takes certain circumstances for folks to grow and realize that everything isn't a fight.  To be someone who is constantly looking for a battle and not being able to see the perspective of others, to me, is indicative of other issues. I try not to interact with niggas like this. Which I think is the majority of folks these days, the whole "woke" era and SM in general really prompts folks to battle it out to prove they're always right. No one is always right.

That takes the debates away from what they're intended for, which is learning from one another. I only go back in forth with a few now because the dialogue is rooted in understanding or it's some asinine shit being said about a group of ppl I care about.

I don't take things too far, but I'm not a "let's just drop it" kind of person either. I like to have a civil conversation about the issue at hand.

It'll only get out of hand when:
A. It's someone who has wronged me before
B. The other person is constantly disrespectful
Or C. The other person is unbelievably ignorant and beyond the point of understanding.

I already hate confrontation, so it irks me when someone's confronting me about something and they are all mad and out of shape and upset because I'm not yelling and screaming with them

If i'm wrong, then I'll admit I was wrong and move on. If I see arguing will be pointless and circular, I'll shut it down with a quick "ok" and keep it moving. I'm not the type that will argue just for the sake of arguing. If I dislike you then I'll pretend you don't exist and carry on with my life.
