Thug Misses was the first time an independent female rap artist got plaqued down. The album also set the blue print for the round the way looking sexually explicit gorl and stood for emancipatory aggressive fight music as emulated by Cardi B, Cupcakke or City Girls.

The album gave birth to a whole new breed of rappers.

Pissy Elliott has to be the most overrated female rap artist of all time

Ra-ta-ta-ta! Ra-ta-ta-ta-taa!

:dead:
!!!

Ppl really just be saying shit

If not for Nicki, NO ONE would've been able to become a "superstar female rapper" again. I'm 100% certain of it.

They tried to downplay her pop songs and wigs, when it's clear the fact is all of that extra-ness allowed "female rap" to seep back into popular culture. For that alone, Pink Friday shoulda been Top 5. She brought bitches back from the dead.

I think what really turned heads for Khia was how explicit and blunt the record was as a single.

We were used to innuendos, word plays, etc. Especially when it came to what made it to the radio
This bitch just said fuck it, lick my pussy and ass crack. No need to be poetic about it

That's what prompted all the rumors about her having the sauce, etc. The gorls were kinda shook with how straightforward and nasty it was.
Plus it knocked. :woohoo:

But make no mistake, girls like Fox and Kim made it OK for her to go ahead and push it a bit further.
I don't even know about that being a first or anything
Foxy was very explicit on What's Your Fantasy rmx and that's just one example off the top of my head that got BLUNT and nasty before Khia

Cardi B, City Girls, Cupcakke, MariahLynn, Saweetie explicitly cute Khia as their reference and inspiration to do the music they do. I mean am just stating facts. They girls love to throw shade but Thug Misses and Neck was a milestone for rap Music period. That just cannot be taken away.

And "K-Wang", "Fuck them other Hoes" are street classics. Also it paved the way for an iconic figure in hip hop and pop culture period.

Boy.

You say this as if Foxy or Kim were supermodels or something. They both gave sexy girl next door.

Kim and Foxy were glammed OWT, different color wigs, designer clothes and being a man's submissive whore. Khia stepped out with no make up, towel round her head, and let herself be pedicured like the queen she is. There is honestly a massive difference.

Khia ain't gave no fucks about female beauty standards created by men. She did her. That was so so special.

That's not the "round the way" look, though. Most Black women enjoy getting glammed up. Hair done, nails did is always a must. Especially back then before this whole natural thing.

So I still wouldn't say that Khia was repping the girl next door./round the way girl....most of them don't try to look like Khia. But I get what you're saying. She was different.
