She can still able to monetize it. And if she owned the masters for this song, it would be for this recording since rolling stone signed off everything regarding the record to her when they heard the song.

Most times when artist sign off for you to re-record their songs they sign off for you to do so however they still receive the royalty payments

Just like Marvin Gaye his family allow his songs to be sampled however they receive like 100 percent of all profit

You are correct they make a PERCENT of the remake. It also depends on the artist team, negotiations, the song. Etc.... so many moving factors that no one can pin point unless they were apart of that specific contract  :dead:

Look at Aroan Grande giving over 90% of royalties away to that song. While some one else is paying less.

If you look on BMI the Rolling Stones own 100 percent of the publishing. They've let lots of ppl cover the record however they maintained 100 percent of publishing. When you click on ppl who have covered it it goes back to the Rolling Stones and doesn't show a split of percentages

I'm gonna check it out. But look on ASCAP that's Ciara's publishing, it would be under there for her version.

Navyman

Nvm it's not that deep. I hate going to ASCAP, you gotta sign up and then pay to login to view majority of the good stuff.
