Aaron has since questioned Wade and James's motives for their involvement in Leaving Neverland, telling TMZ:

The singer also went on to detail his own relationship with Jackson, which started when he was 15. For context, Aaron first came into the public eye aged nine, when his self-titled debut album sold a million copes worldwide. He continued:

I hung out with Michael Jackson, I stayed at his house, I stayed in his bedroom ... it's hard for me to understand that - how am I supposed to understand that when my own personal experience with him was gentle and beautiful and loving and embracing."

Aaron told People in 2004 that he and Jackson had been friends since 2001, and that Jackson never behaved inappropriately with him.

"Nothing happened between me and Michael," he said at the time. "We didn't sleep in the same room, we didn't share a bed. We have a normal friendship. There's nothing sexual to it."
