I heard on the radio this morning that they've already raised a billion dollars for this shit.

My first thought upon reading this is Ivory Coast may have significant ties to France...because otherwise it wouldn't make sense to me.

Did just a bit of quick research (so correct me if it's erroneous), but it seems as if France has been a "friend" of Ivory Coast, offering them assistance with military and agreeing to represent the Ivory Coast in any place internationally where there is no Ivorian representation.

This is more of a political thing and less of a "Hey White people I love you so much, me kiss your feet" thing.

But there are definitely some people on social media right now who have me rolling my eyes.

France is a former coloniser of the Ivory Coast, this isn't an act of kindness, this is a chief in some village tap dancing for the whites in hopes he gets in their good books.
