This! Bee has had as long of a run in the upper echleons of artists as anyone at this point, 21 years straight at this point, way longer than a lot of people considered legends or icons.
Having a 5 or 10 year career on top then having your relevancy languish but you manage to be "around" in some capacity here and there for the several decades that follows is not as iconic as 20+ years ON TOP.
Hell Ashanti is still "around" 18 years later, having only a 2-3 year span on top.
Bee is also the highest grossing black entertainer of all time, as far as live shows go, something that people always overlook.
I also find it funny how depending on the context of the discussion ppl will go from "Beyonce is sooo overrated, everyone acts like she's God and you have to love everything she does, and she has the most rabid fanatical stans of all time!" to "Beyonce's not iconic, because she isn't as beloved or revered as "insert 5-11" inaccurate examples." That goal post has been moving the entire 20+ years.
