Just in my experience when i've told someone I wasn't attracted to them they automatically think I'm referring to their physical appearance. You can be aesthetically appealing but give off zero sexual energy or just be bland/boring which will make you unattractive. I feel like the word attractive has more of a sexual meaning and alot of people mistake that for being good looking.
