I agree that Adele's songs have that timeless, classic feel and she is a good singer but not a great singer. I think her tone is what really gives her voice a bit more umph. Halo is a GREAT power ballad but Beyonc? sang it pretty well still

Celines voice is just so multi-dimensional. She can do classical, pop, and even go toe to toe in a mic toss with r&b singers. Adele is cool, but she is nowhere near as skilled and versatile a vocalist as Celine.
