She's always namedropping Bey & Rih like she's on their level or like they sit online seeking validation like she does.

She really thinks she's more than what she is.

And she wants to credit herself for reviving a genre when she was prancing around singing Katy Perry & Britney Spears bsides. No other female rappers even started thriving until AFTER Cardi came out and started embracing unity in hip hop.

Now this fat hog wants to act like she was trying to help or mentor any up and coming artists.

:omf:
thats what I don't get either

She's trying to big up this hip hop thing

But she had two pop eras back to back :dead:

She was literally dubbed the black Katy or Gaga with her antics. She was known as a pop singer

But .... RAP Kwee! :plzstop:

!!!!

Billboard literally called her "the black lady gaga" and this gur was doing EDM & pop music but ok.....

In all those years who else did we have? Iggy & Azalea for all of 2 days. And Nicki made sure to beef with every other black active female rapper during that time period. This gur literally did nothing for females in hip hop. And still hasn't signed a single artist. She's only backing Megan up because she learned how the hard way by not embracing Cardi.

Nicki had the co-sign of lil Wayne at his peak so I'm not really getting this "on my own!" Patti tea that she's tryna angle...
But I guess being on love n hip hop and having a Instagram page automatically grants you the  access to  getting hits but being signed by one of the biggest and most respected rappers in the game does nothing for your career.
!!!!!!!!!

And Drake is the reason for the majority of her Hot 100 landings :plzstop:
that makes 0 sense :plzstop:

Nicki made waves on her own because she was gorgeous, her ass was big, but most importantly because her rapping style was uniqe and memorable

That's why she got Kanye, Jay-z, Lil
Wayne cosign on her 1st era.

What well-respected rap figures have given Cardi a cosign?

Cardi got it out the mud. No co signs, no Waynes, no drakes.

Nicki rapped over pop beats just like Beyonce and Rihanna sang over pop beats

Does that take R&B away from them? :dead: ok

Opposites Attract.

There is the same amount of females out now that was out when Nicki was reigning. The only difference is you no longer need a major label to be successful. There is literally still only a HANDFUL of girls charting on Billboard. The same exact amount back then. Like gtfoh

It's unconditional, these days you know....

Nicki worked to get his attention.

Every successful commercial artist eventually has a cosign from a man of power - whether he sits behind a desk in an office or prances around in dreds during music videos. But she didn't just wake up one day walk out of her house and get signed by Lil Wayne just cuz she was cute.

She put in work on the mixtape circuit. Downe.
Became a name to be reckoned with locally in Southside Queens before anything else. Read up on kwee a bit.
I don't need to read up on anything because I remember it. I was a fan of Nicki when I first heard her on lil Wayne's mixtape in 2007 :dead:

The point is everybody has put in work so it's no reason for her to be running around trying to water down everybody else's accomplishments just because it's a different time.

And didn't cardi work the mixtape circuit in the same way with her two mixtapes?

But who said Bey and Rih aren't pop stars? Very successful ones

What I don't see is them coming after Brandy claiming to have changed the RnB game

And that's the thing, just because Nicki isn't a pop star anymore she tried to push this Hip Hop thing

I mean... I honestly don't even think those two see themselves as pure RnB anymore either :dead:

Cardi isn't out here singing starships, she went the lil Kim route. Str8 hood, and if the crossover audience gets in then cool

all women do in this misogynistic industry, duh

My point is respected rappers praised her for her talent

Where was Cardi's support from the rap gods and legends? Migos? G-Eazy? :dead:

And Cardi has plenty of cosigns, hello G-Eazy and Migos. They don't hold the weight of Kanye or Jay-Z support tho lol

Yeah not seeing where Tal was trying to go there.

Nobody forced Nicki to do anything. Now she acts like she was Queen Latifah for 10 years. Like sis you were a sellout because nobody was actually gonna use or buy that "mixtape" Nicki mess.

Meanwhile Cardi stuck to her guns and made it through being herself and doing music that SHE wanted to do...something Nicki couldn't.

Yeah which was my point.

Cardi didn't need a bunch of support from heavweights nor did she have to create a character and do music to appeal to white teeny boppers for the first half of her career.
