That's the whole point of the thread though. Mario was very successful especially after his 2nd album. And now he's not. He got dropped from RCA and hasnt been able to bounce back. I love him and I cant stand Trey's ass but Trey is more successful and making bigger moves than Mario is right now. Mario hasn't had a hit in like 7 years.

Trey was never considered big.  Between all 7 of his albums he sold no more than 2-2.5 million albums collectively. Ready took four years to go platinum. He's scrapping to go gold now. How was he ever big?

Feel like we're arguing the same thing. I already said I didn't think Trey had anything to do with the fall of Mario.

But to deny Trey is one the bigger R&B acts NOW...is crazy. He definitely is big within his genre. Mario had 1 crossover hit (written by Ne-Yo, who I said DID snatch his spot). That doesn't mean he completely eclipses what Trey has done.

Forget album sales (cause it's R&B), Trey stays in rotation on the radio. Plus, he tours regularly successfully.

maybe the nigga just doesn't wanna make music anymore?

I was going to come in here saying what most of you already said....

Mario SHITS on Trey vocally and musically.

and

Trey is only more popular because he constantly releases and doesn't take breaks like Mario does.

Doesn't really matter if Mario is >>>>> Trey Vocally and Musically if no one is buying her music lolz

It's not Mario's fault he doesn't release an album consistently. It was his label. During that time he beginning to get taken through the wringer in the industry.

Trey might be popular. But he did nothing particularly special for R&B music. All those redundant generic ass songs are garbage.

Scott.

Mario has the voice.

I think he needs to work with producers that will push him vocally and give him what he needs. There's no reason why Trey is bigger than he is and that Omarion can come back and snatch a hit with "Posed To Be" and he can't.
