Lew there are different TYPES of legends.
There's levels to this.

Simply saying someone is a "legend" doesn't mean they are automatically entitled to a specific tea.

Example:

James Brown IS a legend.
Michael Jackson IS a legend.

However, if both were still alive and at their peak today, Michael would get paid more for a concert or appearance because he'd bring in WAY bigger numbers.
HBO could comfortably invest millions and millions into Michael and sit back and watch every penny roll back to them, plus way more.

James Brown could come to HBO and say, "Wait, you said Mike is a legend...You say I am legend...so why can't we have the exact same pay? Why aren't you INVESTING the same amount of money into me?"

Ummm cuz Michael draws a bigger crowd. Plays bigger arenas. Sells more records. Just overall has a huge following.

Same goes for Mo'nique talking about "sold out" shows. Selling out a rib shack club is not the same as selling out an arena.
If a club only seats 50-200 people how hard is it to "sell out"?

Most of the promo she did was before the movie blew up.

She didn't do herself any favors by playing hardball mid game instead of before she hit the field.

That was her choice to be done, but now she has to live with consequences of that choice.

I agree with everything Monique says, other than the fact that she blames black people for a systems that has been created by White People. It is hard for Whoop, Oprah, Steve or Tyler to feel sympathy when they also had to go through the same systems. She said Oprah offered to send her jet to fly her to Cannes to make it easier on her.

Black women work 10x as hard to get 1/10 the pay, this is not changing anytime soon. The issue is that Monique has isolated this into a Hollywood issue, when these issues exist in EVERY industry.
