from what i gathered people were just rabdomly guessing  there would be a sequel from the way it ended. idk if there has been any official announcement.

some ppl were also saying the ending alluded to there being more than just one creature like the boy, but those were just random guesses. it could have easily been just him doing all those things on the news, which is how i interpreted it.
