When have anyone just got in their car and heard If You Had My Love, He Isnt Man Enough, Its not tight on the radio? When?

please tell me what billboard decade list do you see Rodney Jerkins outside of the boy is mine. Because you DONT. But what you do see is JD having like 5 songs in the top 15 on the decade list. Yup
ALL of Rodney's mess isn't gimmicky and I have definitely heard he wasn't man enough on the radio to this day but i really agree. Rodney's mess is a bit..............I don't wanna say gimmicky but for lack of a better term at the moment,  GIMMICKY!  I'll say this to the day i die, full moon is partly a mess to me BECAUSE of the production.  It was overbearing and annoying. JD was literally the life force behind mooriah Carey's resurgence and what is arguably her best album.  He was Usher's secret weapon as well.  I just can't get behind trying to discredit him because these niggas are making spaceship productions trying hard as hell to give different :dead:
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

I agree. He really did way too much with Full Moon. It seemed rushed like he was just copying and pasting mess together to make a deadline.

"This don't sound right Rodney."
"Oh, fast forward her verse, uh put a twist sound in it to start the new beat. We gotta dead line nigga"

Well Dallas produced End Of The Road
what song does either of them have that was bigger than that?

end of the road isnt even that good a song tbh

and say my name .. hell even he wasnt man enough slays it lolz
n End Of the Road is iconic
but the quality which is subjective wasnt what is being discussed
Man Enough is no where near as iconic and influential
i'm screaming

there's really nothing innovative about End of the Road, musically speaking. It's a classic, yes. but it sounds just like what was out at the time and that is mostly due to babyface implementing his sound.

You don't hear a song and go "oh! sounds like a dallas austin track!" the way you would with Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis, Timbaland, Pharrell/Neptunes, or Darkchild. Even Jermaine Dupri had that ghetto scummy ass atlanta thing goin on.

Dallas ain't really a legend TBH... but yea i'll say he's an icon

Wait on End of the Road. That's one of the biggest most classic R&B ballads of it's time. A power ballad doesn't have to innovate. Is Adele's "Hello" innovative? Or any other power ballad?

I don't know why we're talking about that song, anyway. It's Babyface...

I agree that Dallas doesn't have a particular sound, though. That's probably why he's not thought of in the same way as the other super producers.

The Atlanta girls give a cute R&B mess for sure. REALLY down home and true 💙

But imagine them ever coming up with this -

It ain't happening LMAO. We love an elite tea over here
:justabit:
the innovation just isn't there
They make some good music though, they just didn't take risks or challenge themselves sonically

Idk I think Dallas can be pretty innovative. He has rock and country songs in his catalogue. He clearly experiments with different styles and sounds. And I'm able to say this even though I like Rodney the best.

It can be debated that Tim would be nothing without his samples. Dallas and JD actually write songs from scratch...

Tim makes songs from scratch too.  Someone posted a video with him making a beat once.  His process was amazing
