Will Smith just made a whole futuristic/action movie and did you gorls support? I'll answer that, ya didn't and the shit flopped. But diversity! new roles!

Yeah, this isn't gonna wash since most of us watch Insecure, Atlanta, Blackish, Greenleaf, Queen Sugar etc....all of which are on their 3rd/4th season. We support quality shows.

Hell, we support shit shows as well. Tyler's other soaps are all doing well. We're just poking fun at how uninspired his work is :dead:

I don't understand why he can't just put his ego to the side and hire writers

Just stick to producing and handling things behind the scenes, the creative aspect of it is NOT your forte and that's okay

:udontlookok:

But if it aint broke, why fix it? Theres an obvious audience for it as his empire keeps growing. So until he starts flopping, he wont see the need to "improve".
as a creative, that's the worst mentality to have IMO

we should ALWAYS be looking to improve. He deserves his flowers, but no ma'am ffgffgfg

Love Hallmark for what it is. I don't go in watching their movies expecting an Oscar mess

Nobody goes in on Issa Rae, Spike Lee, Childish Gambino, etc., the way they do Tyler and there's a reason for that.

Yeah, but Hallmark accepts itself for what it is

you don't see the girls at Hallmark tryna go up against HBO & CBS only to release a christmas movie starring Ashanti & Debbie Gibson

Tyler actually touches on real shit.

People turned their nose up at him giving Janet AIDS but the story was real.

Spike lee, issa and everyone else can get it too though. When something isn't good, it just isn't

We critique music and shitty songs all the time sdddf Tyler just releases content at a SUPER high rate (which also contributes to diminished quality IMO) so we see negative comments and critique on his work at the SAME rate and it seems more harsh.

He simply has more content playing across a multitude of networks, so of course that'll lend itself to more critique

yummy

I've never even heard about this  :plzstop:

She shared with him research from focus groups and the general consensus from executives at the company was that the writing could be 'improved significantly.'
'That's when Oprah finally got to see a side of Tyler she hadn't experienced yet. He resisted her feedback, the same way he resists the feedback of critics and media people who chastise his work, and became extremely defensive with her.

'He told her, "Aren't the shows delivering ratings for the network? Well, then let me do what I do and you can keep your focus group research to yourself",' reveals the source.

Winfrey reminded Perry that the reason he approached her about doing a deal at OWN was because he lost his TV deal at TBS.

When the former playwright first launched his sitcoms Tyler Perry's House of Payne (2006) and Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns (2008) at TBS, he scored huge ratings and the network created a new fully-staffed urban division just to manage his programming.

By the time his third sitcom For Better or Worse came around in 2011 – his shows had dipped drastically in the ratings and TBS laid off its entire urban division.

'Tyler didn't leave TBS because he wanted to go to OWN. His deal with TBS wasn't renewed because his shows had stopped generating ratings and Tyler wouldn't take network feedback to help save them when they tried to offer it.

"So when his contract was up, they weren't interested in re-signing it.

"Oprah basically had to remind him, 'you needed me as much as I needed you when we decided to do this partnership and don't forget that'," tells the source.
The professional squabble caused the two to stop communicating as much personally.

Oprah told that nigga shape up or toss that fuckin Madea wig back on and hit the chitlin circuit
