I mean...
the song was a bit of a cultural phenomenon...

everyone was doing the dance and getting into it.
i even heard it on a lot of mainstream TV shows that aren't even geared to the black community
The Wiz incorporated it into the show, etc...there wasn't any escaping it tbh..

i think he def should've perched. I'm not saying he should've won, but a nom was deserving
