Every artist, creator and entrepreneur needs a team of people that will help them and their work grow. The Tyler Perry martyrs are  unable to LISTEN to critique because they're so seduced by his hustle! work hard! rhetoric he and the like continue to spew but as this sister stated, quality work takes time I.e. BeyoncĂ©'s "Homecoming", Fleabag, etc.
Yea,  it's really crazy  :dead:
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

i didn't have that feeling because tyler perry's work is BAD

vvvbbbbbbhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

the way quee cut RIGHT to the mess
I like that she doesn't just bash Tyler and actually talked about what she does like and admire about him as well. She seems consistent

I just subscribed so im not familiar with her, but she gives credit where its due and lashes where it matters, or what she feels should be critiqued.

!!
She's very intricate and thorough

Just watched this video and she snapped yet again.

I strongly disagree with her about the lunch scene

Never watched the show but growing up in the hood and then moving to a more affluent part of town for high school.. I can assure u that any one that was light skin was automatically asked if they were mixed..

Yes black comes in multiple shades but the education level of mullato and brighter skin hasn't always been there
My sister would always get asked if she was mixed because she's so damn bright

But she isn't. She's black af..
So I get what she's saying but I thought this was an accurate depiction on the mixedish writers end

Hmph

yummy

She made some solid points about the workaholic aspect and how people think he's immune to criticism because he employs a lot of niggas, but that man has made it very clear that he doesn't plan on straying from his formula

can't wait for the next installment of "for colored girls who caught aids because they cheated on a good man" tho

do Tyler Perry movies win big at the Black awards
:disgusted:
:plzstop:
This speaks to how everyone thinks his work is fckn drivel.  U know black award shows look for any damn reason to throw an award at an all black movie. All u have to do is Google Tyler Perry and you can see that his work is panned across the board. And this ain't even just about how he represents us tbh. We have plenty of films that show the black lifestyle being all sad, depressing, etc. If ur gonna do it then do it WELL. Imagine having the gall to brag about writing 100 terrible scripts  :plzstop:

!!
She fucking blacked owt

I agree with everything she said
He's a narcissist and cares wayyyy more about the "did it on my own!" Rather than properly telling these stories

That's the American way... I know y'all see people all the time even non-rich people struggle through things they don't have to struggle through because their pride won't let them ask for help and so they can say they did it all on their own... This behavior is far from being exclusive to Tyler so I can't be mad at him.
eh, he's a prominent and important figure in the black community and this conversation is about him. This behavior not being exclusive to him, doesn't absolve him of anything

Not saying you're trying to, but a lot of people are most definitely going to care, especially seeing as how he's releasing the most content, and doing so at an unbelievable rate

Her point is that Tyler is afraid to embrace others' creativity because they'll overshadow him but I don't think that's the case. He could benefit from a team of people but he he really believes if it ain't broke.. and I get that.

I don't think people understand that... This man is making millions off of what he does and constantly getting new offers, I can't see him changing up what he does until that changes.  Plus he'd be a fool to change up his working formula to please an unpleasable set of people who probably still won't support what he does even if he does change.
But to say these people haven't or don't support him is false. Most complaints I've ever seen have been from people that have spent their hard earned coin and they have every right to voice concerns or pivot entirely from the way he maybe used to make them feel way back in 2005.

Y'all can bitch and moan all y'all want and I get the complaints but he's too big at this point... The number of supporters he has outweighs the numbers of criticizers.

Plus you can't say he doesn't help black people in the entertainment field... He hires like 99% black people to act his mediocre scripts.
Not one person in this thread has said he doesn't help black people in entertainment  :dead:

If you "get the complaints", i don't see how you can type the rest of that post out. 🥴🥴

Meanwhile, Ne-Yo wrote Irreplaceable for Beyonce.
a whole show and series with characters arcs and full fledged storylines is different and requires a lot more thought in most cases.

Tyler's ability to spearhead or contribute to a show like that isn't something I'd question. The concern on MY end is just having more voices in the room to elevate his works. It can still belong to him if he gets help. I'll forever be consistent with that

But him ultimately not caring about black people and blah blah. I'm not on that at all
