No black artist is doing 3 million

Anyway, logically black artist would sell less since we're going by this "people support their own" mess

117k wasn't that good considering how long he had been gone. tbh.

But I get what Herb' is saying.
He was gone for nearly two decades

came back under the radar, and booked 117K

for most POP artists, a break that long would have been the kiss of death for their first week.

In this climate, 117K is a book, irrespective of circumstance.

I dont get what people see in him. His personality is a huge fucking turn off.

D'Angelo's 'Black Messiah' Track List Revealed & Title Explained

Next week?s second biggest debut will likely be D?Angelo?s surprise album release, Black Messiah. Credited to D?Angelo and The Vanguard, the set could sell around 100,000 copies in its first week. The album -- D?Angelo?s first studio effort in nearly 15 years -- arrived nearly out of thin air at 12 a.m. on Dec. 14 via digital retailers. A CD version of the album appeared in brick and mortar stores the next day. (A vinyl edition of the album will be released on Feb. 10, 2015.)

D?Angelo?s last studio album, Voodoo, was released on Jan. 25, 2000. It debuted atop the Billboard 200, selling 321,000 in its first week. It spawned the R&B singer?s biggest radio hit, ?Untitled (How Does It Feel),? which reached No. 17 on the Radio Songs chart. The album later won the Grammy Award for best R&B album, while ?Untitled? took home the trophy for best male R&B vocal performance. The album has sold 1.7 million to date.

Herb.

And since Chris Brown wants to sit around talking about his global appeal is and mess, and distancing himself from "slave music", he should be well prepared to celebrate his opening numbers. Let's see if Massah kept you in the god damn house.

D'Angelo's album was his first album in 14 years. :uhh: 117k isn't impressive. Not when Adele is doing 3 million first week.
Gorrr
But yet the 120 that Bert did with Black panties was?

Ur a MESS!

Be consistent at least..
Ur all over the fucking place

bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb

And that 120k was with promo and him hanging off Gaga's clit.
D'Ang & Jan pushed through without a lick of promo only to give a 6 figure book and top the fuckin charts.

Like, just give them their props.

I mean... It stalled literally after that and its been a year and a Gold certification is well out of reach.
I get the current sales climate. If his album had consistently done good and he went gold at the very least.
I'd say it did amazing.

IDK if D'ang' was ever a big seller or not tbh.

Idk where the logic of expected huge numbers after an artist's long hiatus. If anything it hurts them because they're forgotten..

He did 134k with no promo  :plzstop:

Tran did 106k as her return to the industry. Now that's awful, not a damn book. She should just go back to the Middle East after that flop shit.

And D'Angelo should've done more just for the fact that he's a respected artist with good music and made his return after 14 years. That was the Urban AC's audience chance to show out.

But yeah, Chris still hasn't learned when to STFU. I luv that boy but he is such a dummy.

Am waiting for the reflective, regretful "changing my ways" post coming later this week.
