Moderna in the USA is in phase 1 and could do phase 3 in the fall..so if everything works out there could be a vaccine in 2021.

CureVac predicts to test the vaccine
on a human in June..phase 1. They are funded by the German government so they will probably make vaccines for Germany (maybe Italy) first. Trump tried to buy this vaccine for the USA exclusively for millions but the director who visited the White House resigned and the old director returned..they confirmed they will never make a vaccine exclusively for one country. Europe is still pissed about Trump's selfish behavior.

"Vaccine development is a very complex process and there is no definitive singular path to get a vaccine approved for human use," Erich Tauber, CEO of Themis, told me."https://www.labiotech.eu/medical/themis-coronavirus-vaccine-cepi/

It would be unrealistic for the complete USA to be vaccinated, Trump's attempts to calm people down are just sad. Quarantine should be the main focus now because the creation of a vaccine will take time.

"Typically, vaccines take two to five years to develop; however, the World Health Organization (WHO) has said that, because of global urgency, it is reasonable to expect a vaccine in 18 months."

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2020/3/15/21180688/coronavirus-vaccine-germany-white-house-trump

It is also important to know that CEPI is asking for financial support (2 billion) because without funding they can't even test the vaccines.

"CEPI has become the lead actor on COVID-19 vaccine development and has the institutional expertise, networks, and agility to move rapidly. However, while CEPI has begun the process by supporting 4 vaccine candidates with more programmes due to be announced, without additional funding no programme will be able to progress through the earliest phase of clinical testing.Today's call for $2 billion of new funding will enable CEPI to expand the number of vaccine candidates at the outset to increase our chances of success, and to fund the clinical trials for these candidate vaccines.

Our ambition is to have at least 3 vaccine candidates, which could be submitted to regulatory authorities for licensure for general use/use in outbreaks."

That's funny. They are rushing, coming up with money to make a vaccine BUT haven't had this same movement towards aids or any other critical diseases.

I was talking to a woman on twitter who spend three years developing antibiotics for tuberculosis and her project got cancelled because there was no funding. It's all about money I guess.

They did the same with HSV. It was close but they had to stop because they didn't have enough money. So basically it could be a cure but since you can live with it and have to go to the doctor, why not make money off it. Sad world.
