there is nothing wrong with being trans (if you do it right and dress the part).. so im so confused why girls are ashamed
spending thousands of dollars but walking around playing halloween everyday.. because subsequently that is what they are saying.. that it's an act that they have to stay in character for to pull off..
do u girls not see how the whole concept of "being born in the wrong body".. gets canceled out when u get surg and mones to look like women.. but also shy away from sharing your journey with intimate potentials?
So....I'm seeing a lot of politics here surrounding the trans body and how it is presented.
You have to take into account a trans persons journey. Class, race, and economics influence a trans persons journey. How they are able to acquire the resources for their surgical journey IF they choose to have surgery performed? Because remember....not everyone who identifies as trans gets surgery performed.
Janet Mock speaks to this in her book "Redefining Realness". She talks about her privilege as a trans woman birthed into a liberal family in Hawaii and though bound by lack of monetary resources, the fact that she had familial support made the difference which is why she was able to have surgery performed at young age I.e. making trans woman like her "passeable".
You have a lot trans folk based on race and class displaced from their homes leaving them without resources. We know this. So it makes the journey feel insurmountable.
