According to Wikipedia, Brandy didn't know that "He is" was a gospel song?
Quote"He Is", the next song, is a love song with a classy piano and sparse drum track;[21] speaking about God in third person, Norwood was unaware, the song was secretly conceptualized as a gospel song by its writers.
that was Warryn Campbell's intent

At the time, she believed more in the universe and blah blah. I have the video where they discussed how she does her adlibs and how Erica Campbell studied her after witnessing the recording session of just adlibs for that song

thank you rig. i love "He is", but didn't know it was a song about god when I initially heard it. It's such a beautiful song. Wasn't there a pop remix they released as a single? Right now I could only find this alternate mix with a different intro and some other instrumentation that's added. But I do remember hearing another alternate version...

wait

I kinda like this better than the standard one

Sovereign.

"I Thought", "Can We", "Anybody", "Love Wouldn't Count Me Out" and "All In Me" do it to me every single time. :'(

Bish

I hate the sped up part in All in me but it's one of my fave Brandy songs ever. This album has her best  adlibs.

fadsjfdandfja

it reminds me of Thong Song

oh no ma'am. they took the adlibs outta the first verse of "He is" sdsdsds that bothers me

this is nice, but the original >>>

The production alone made me feel Brandy emote. Especially in that second verse, but i love how the bridge sounds on this alternate mix. It's clearer and less muddied

"Anybody" is definitely an homage to Timbaland and Aaliyah

Ffggfgg

I think this amazing song was moreso Rodney big ass shading Timbaland all while using Brandy's stronger voice to do it. And I think he kinda succeeded.. no shade

i think the beauty of music is that it can be interpreted however you'd like

i dont always think of God when i hear that song at all, but i do when i hear "ALL IN ME"   :dead:
its interesting

definitely, it's beautiful how universal music can be. It was the same with Musiq Soulchild's "Love". It's really a song about god but the label replaced the word "Lord" with "Love" to make it more commercially appealing. That's one of my all time fav tracks...guess I'm a Christian at heart  :letsmessfag:

Now I need to re-listen to "All in me"!
Must be a purple moon, feel like one of those nights...
