I know we're over this show and haven't watched since season 11-ish... but this is interesting. They both look amazing! And although Mister Jays crooked mess made me jump back initially.... he got finer and finer as I kept watching. I couldn't take my eyes off of him.

Dr Naomi Campbell

The only girls I have currently seen visibly doing something is Eva and Sal.

Hatsumomo

It's sad how all these girls fall off after winning. I thought Ann was destined for such high fashion greatness but she's a graphics designer now making near minimum wage .. that show is a joke.

I don't think it's entirely on the show, if at all. I mean we can see it for whichever girl but we're not the casting directors and agency execs. The show picked the best out of the bunch and after that it's on the model. Ok you won against 12 girls but are you booking things over the 5,000 girls in the real world? We shouldn't take the title of the show so literally. And if the girl is lazy and without real ambition, we can't blame the show.

ya rock muh world.

winner is da best of da best! surefire ting! leggo!

I think as the seasons progressed she definitely began letting the winners know on the finales that the show is simply a platform for them and that it's up to them to keep pushing.

ya rock muh world.

Especially with them being so young, probably had no concept of what it would be like in the real world. Still, as a viewer I wouldnt call the show a joke based on that, with the vantage point of a decade.

M-Rocka

Yeah Dani is still pretty successful and I believe Jaslene from Cycle 8 is too. Sal is on Young & The Restless I think. Caridee is a spokesperson for some psoriasis commercial last time I saw her. And we all know where Eva is lol

It hits so hard because it looks like he still contours along with the job. I love his eye shape

yeah . Tyra knew exactly what she was doing

i mean her being at the forefront of it all alone gave it some sort of industry cosign.
then inviting Kimora, Janice, Leon, etc. out to play as well....definitely could easily give the gorls an impression that this could be a big break

and $100,000 seems like a LOT of money when you're 15 I'm sure. Especially when you don't realize half of it will be going into the government's pocket. :omf:

i don't think the show was a joke, but it def had the makings of something that would give winners false hope
i mean yeah Tyra picked you as a winner this season cuz you're the nerdy gor from Walmart that no one really looks at and it sends a strong message to other gorls like you....

but that doesn't mean the industry will embrace you all the same.

People point out all the problematic mess that went down on ANTM but she really did a good job of sending positive messages to young girls as well. That's the very least someone has to give the show. It was a platform where anyone could be "beautiful".
