I never said that his views were NOT constructed by the representations of media. In fact, I took the time to recognize that they most likely are. This does NOT negate the fact that as a black person, conversing with a white person, I felt some type of way about him speaking of Africa in that way.

In order for someone to learn, or grow , the first step is a willingness to accept information which counters and challenges your perceptions. He showed no willingness at that point in time.
