and the competitiveness makes things interesting.

not when no one is checking for the genre.

I may just be thinking of Bey...

But it wouldn't hurt for the girls doing less tan 100k to band together on a Ladies of Soul kinda tour. tbh.
Get a cute budget that can cover enough stage to move, lights, LED graphics n stuff.

That would drum up interest.

Sis I agree

It's so sad

We need big name artist attending the BET and Soul Train awards
We need those Mowtown Lives, the Divas duets

We need mainstream support again.

And ABC special or CBS special where all of today's R&B artist have a platform to promote . There's no reason why they're selling 30k

They have NO support.
Monica for instance has done everything herself. She's a fucking get at her label but they don't care because she's R&B

Abcd

They didn't even give the bitch a video or put the song on iTunes

Abcd

!!!! Now that I think about it, I'm starting to believe it has to do with the black's crab in a barrel mentality. R&B thrived in the 90's and 00's because it made a lot of $$$. The black culture as a whole was IN back then. Now it's not. So there's no major machine behind the genre. Instead they would rather put a pale face on it and market it that way and I don't blame them tbqfh.

RAY7

I don't agree with the end only because ppl are working together
I just posted Tank, & Jazmine touring together for a few dates
Chris & Trey toured together, Usher & August
I mean ppl are working together and still no one is buying

TBH, KUDOS to the artists who keep Doing R&B and are able to stay in the game

Monica always says this:
QuoteMore R&B artists need to support each other. Real support means touring together, forming alliances, dropping the ego and competitive spirit and rising up together. This means so-called mainstream R&B artists that get those major looks at radio or television need to reach out and down; to uplift someone else. Hip Hop gets it! Rap artists support each other. They are the perfect example of combining resources, forming alliances and winning together.

And i agree.  Especially the R&B females ...  their competitive spirit isn't in a healthy way. They all hate on, and shade each other   :dead: Lalah Hathaway sits up on twitter and does it all the time
