i see what he means

but in a way it's good there's some sort of expectation that u wont resist arrest...

if everyone felt it was OK to resist, some may take it as "its ok to fight the police", etc.
and we'd be seeing these shootings even more than we have already

but i dont blame any black man for being petrified of being detained/taken away by white officers
there's a distrust in the community that is completely justified
!!!!!! I'd personally just allow myself to be arrested and pray all the way back to the station if I'm lucky enough to make it there alive  and then pray they don't kill me like they did Sandra Bland and so many others whilst being in custody at the station smh

But like you said, i can see why someone's first reaction is to push back a bit and get a full explanation of why they're being arrested. It's terrifying to watch, so i can only imagine what it's like to be there and in the moment. Terrifying is an understatement

Also, it's not resisting if the reason you're being arrested is unlawful to begin with. Most of these officers feel they have unfettered powers to do as they please.

I tried to watch the video in the OP all the way through, but i couldn't

Rayshard sounded as if he was willing to do whatever they wanted as long as they wouldn't arrest him. Said his daughter's birthday was just the night before smh he was practically pleading with them. I had to cut it off after that

i think the only way to really say how we'd respond is by being in the situation

so i can't judge anyone who tries to run or get away...

Literally been in this same exact situation

Had 2 long islands, thought I was good good got half down the street and pulled my ass over in a parking lot and fell asleep then I heard a knock on the window.

Explained the mess and was honest about how many drinks I had and the situation and they drove me to my apartment.

So yeah am judging

shouldn't you be judging the cops then because they couldn't give him the common decency like what those cops  did for you  and decided to shoot him in his back instead  :disgusted:

No

Because I don't like this mentality that we have to fight cops

It's stupid
