This is actually based on Michaela's (the main actress) own rape incident that happened a couple of years ago. Just like chewing gum she wrote this series. This along with Black Earth Rising and her musical romance (also on Netflix) shows how talented she is!!!

She portrayed the trauma so well in this series. It's literally so realistic and heartbreaking and I love how she shows all these different nuances of the topic at hand.
