I'm in Canada and it's crazy to think that the U.S. has more deaths than Canada has cases, yet there's been a stronger response from from our leaders (medically and economically from BOTH liberal and conservative governments).

Right. Cases here and dropping and they just began to reopen non-essential businesses this week. Ontario has like 110 new cases yesterday while FL had 9k cases the other day? And they r allowed to just go out and crowd the beaches? I mean. hey. I hope Canada sticks to their plan to keep our borders closed to the US for much longer. The leaders there r rly fuckin shit up.

We have what they call an 'intelligent lockdown'. This means people are educated about the virus (that if you have asymptomatic covid you can still spread it), social distancing (always keep distance everywhere, masks) and quarantine (at least 14 days if you feel ill). We could only go out for groceries for like a month. But because there is no paranoia in politics (fake news, hoax, political strategy!) the people are listening to doctors (masks work, covid will kill you, younger people can die too).
And I think because we are not scared of the government like a lot of American citizens we had some sort of trust in our leaders.

The country was shut down because it was needed and the economy could only recover if we take care of covid first! So yes it will hurt the economy but it will hurt more if you don't shut everything down.
There is a task force working 24/7 only on corona while in the USA people like pence are multitasking.

It is really crazy dr Fauci didn't speak  to trump for more than two weeks. He is trying to keep the peace but he knows the country is getting destroyed. The USA is so big, they should have been way more strict, educated and serious, but instead Pence is saying he is praying for less deaths. You have to response with science not religion. Plus Trump's reaction initially was very late, in Europe we were at least three weeks ahead with getting the info on what this virus is about. Trump is still figuring out why it is a 19.

The European Union will block travellers from Brazil, Russia, Uganda and the USA because of their poor response. Trump can't talk his way out of it. It is very clear to see he cared more about suicides on Wallstreet and hurting his rich friends/family than the other 98% of the people.

And why do these American doctors like Birx keep saying that the people who die already had preexisting conditions? Like it is a good thing? There have been 'healthy' people in a damn coma for weeks to fight this virus. A lot of them died, a lot of them will have ptsd or a burnout/depression. People who recover are exhausted. Of course for many this is a heavy flu but I think my brother had it last year after travelling in China and he said he felt like he was dying. 

I also heard in the USA doctors can decide if a patient dies from for example cancer but has covid this doesnt count as a covid death. But in my country they are probably more likely to say covid killed because it made a person more weak. So there are possibly more deaths than reported.

Plus it doesn't matter if they are testing a lot and find more covid. It is such a dumb argument, it is actually worse than having people in quarantine with a 'maybe covid maybe not'-status. It is another chance that this covid patient has probably spread it to other people (and it could take another 14 days for these people to find out if they have it, so they spread it without knowing, snowball effect of covid).

They are actively working on agreements to allow Americans to travel while the US borders remain closed to most of the world. And will remain closed until 2021.
