This is stupid. Viola isn't a bad actress she just isn't on the level of Meryl streep nor does she have ANY of her range. Meryl Streep can literally play ANY type of role and viola CANT.  Viola shines in these kinda roles and with these characters. This was a scene that was written for this character to have a moment  . Of course the better the actress, the the better the moment, so that's why she "ate" Meryl in this scene.  She was SUPPOSED to.  It was her moment

I don't think she'd be good tbh. I watched that lil good times thing that was supposed to be funny and her and andre braugher were kinda terrible.  Andre is a great actor and he is good at comedy so it could've been an off night for him but viola just didn't seem NATURAL. If she aint snottin and crying, it kinda doesn't make sense
