I dont mind her doing ADC here. Normally, I would roll my eyes, but I do want her to give a VOCAL and ADC is the best choice for that. She's performed her other hit records from that era on the main stage before, but ADC didnt really get that cause she was so busy with Moesha and filming other shows. So this will be a good opportunity for her to give it the shine it deserves.

Idk guys...when I think of quintessential Brandy, I think of ADC. Maybe it's based on where you grew up but that's the song I remember the most from Brandy in her prime.

!!! I'm here to celebrate the good. No artist gets it right every single time (except maybe Beyoncé  :kii) so I find it disparaging when it comes to folk criticizing Brandy's every move. It's her Indie project and she debuted Top 20 as an Indie R&B from the 90's. That's a miracle tbh. And I think it wise we celebrate that! And she's going to continue to grow as a writer, her melodies will get better and when her next project releases (hopefully the pandemic is lifted by that point), she'll really give it its just due.

Idky Brandy has chosen ADC as THEE song either. It's never been that great to me and it wasn't even a hit like THAT.

IMO it's the song she is most comfortable singing live. I feel like it started during the Human era I think when the track stopped playing and she sang that acapella and the crowd went off. I don't recall sis really going up for ADC prior to that moment .After that she started singing it acapella at her shows .

Just my lil theory. She claims it's in "her register" and perfect for her voice . I personally feel like SITTIN should be her go to old school hit .. it's so iconic!

I agree with what u said but it's this too. It's in the perfect spot for her voice and doesn't require her to push too much,  reach to high,  etc.  If she chooses to color it up then she can but she doesn't have to.  With that said,  it's a pretty lackluster song and I wouldn't be mad at her choosing another song. I like ADC but not enough for it to be like some staple song for her

"Almost Doesn't Count" is that girl. The country-esque production with the guitar and the beautiful and honest storytelling. I can't believe she was under 20 when she made that song.

Almost doesn't count is a great song! But us as stans we watch every live performance( I try to lol) and we know her set by heart so it's like .. come on you have so many gems why are you stuck on this song!! But the average listener most likely isn't tuned in to Brandys performances if it's not on a main stage like an award show so it could be a treat for them .

It's in her range so comfortably and it's so simply melodically that she can kill it even when hoarse. I think that's why.
