I think she ultimately was just trying to say that Latinas also played a major role in this victory, but they don't ever get recognized for it.  She said it very poorly and rambled on too much. I see how folks would interpret this as her dismissing what black women did
well yeah because Black Latina's exist :dead: she's an idiot, point blank.

Black Women - including Stacy Abrams - saved this entire election and deserve to be centered in the discussion and celebrated. She as so dismissive.  "Yeah i mean we saw what Black Women did in Georgia but the REAL Heroes were Latinas"

:uhh: what? Fuck her

She praised black women in the moments before and after the comment.
"we saw what they did in Georgia" isn't really praise. Hatred for Black Women may not be in her heart, but it's interesting how she glossed right over them as an aside and moved right to Latinas.

That wasn't praise

Good to see Latinas and Afro Latinas getting her together

Im sure she meant no harm but I'm glad she apologized. We not glossing over Black Women and their accomplishments anymore. Fuck that

I'm all for giving someone the benefit of the doubt but why even mention in the same breath? This was not accidental.

so basicslly.... youre NOT for giving someone the benefit of the doubt lol

I'm pretty sure the context of my post made it very clear that I tried to but it's not being given in this situation based on her clearly trying to overshadow black women

so if you feel that she was "clearly" trying to overshadow black women, then..... to my point.... you aren't giving her the benefit of the doubt since she has issued an apology stating unequivocally that this was not her intention.

That kind of hints that I tried to see it from a different perspective but ultimately ruled that out.

klappa.

no it doesnt. it hints that you think you are giving someone the benefit of the doubt but you lack the true understanding of what it means to give someone the benefit of the doubt.

giving someone the benefit of the doubt means trusting what they said their intentions were even if you, peronsally, have a hard time seeing it that way.
