there was a thread where the question was asked if anyone wishes their fave had an era like this
and it doesnt hurt to say YES I wish my fave put out a dope EP during an EIGHT yr hiatus with multiple LIVE performances
on award shows, nightly talk shows and now booking the SuperBowl
of course I hope no one is trying to diss Bran but can we be honest?

i already said that i understand part of stanning is wanting the best for your fav
and just being emotional and not thinking logically. dreaming and wanting for them.

i'm not addressing that. what i am addressing is the little POKES at GHan about her era

there's def some shade being thrown with comparisons. if u ain't the one throwing it, let it fly

nothing wrong with wanting the best for GHan.

the stars are aligning for Jaz, and honestly it's great

but Jaz is on a major label - for starters that alone makes the comparison between she and GHan unfair.
especially in regards to how things are set up for promotion, visibility, etc.

GHan did her project on her own.

it applies anytime a discussion about the setup of an artist's era is being discussed.
labels handle that, traditionally.

an example of a conversation where it wouldn't apply would be raw talent. vocal prowess, etc.

GHan is an old school 90s artist going the edgy indie route.

read that sentence a few times for me and tell me if its reasonable to expect that she'd know exactly what to do
especially the first time around - handling her first  full era as an indie.

we want Ghan to be SZA, and Jazmine, and every other newer younger gor on the scene

when in reality she's more comparable to someone like Toni in terms of the era she comes from

Toni is scared shitless of doing anything on her own when it comes to an era tea.

And her albers are still a whole snoozefest  recently at least GHan gave me some knock.

Jaz did everything right. The timing, the music, the performances. Not to mention the hype from other artists and folks like Charlemagne. Let's be honest: the music on Heaux Tales fits into today's musical landscape (vulgar, raunchy and profane). Those songs started conversations and memes all over social media which made people want to listen. 

Brandy is a legacy act at this point, and that's how the B7 era was handled to me. I haven't seen her this visible in years. The music wasn't radio friendly like Jaz's, but the GP has finally accepted her for the LEGEND she is. I'm happy with that.

Brandy is stamped, sealed, and solidified. Anything Queen does is bonus at this point.

Brandy had good promo. It was just sort of scattered IMO.

I think she should have focused more on live performances...even if it was just a small set up at her house....performing like 5 or 6 songs.
