Firstly,  u got Ashanti and Keyshia Cole.  Mistake #1

i kinda feel like Ashanti lowered herself to do it tbh

I mean ... maybe Ashanti vs Ciara would've been better tbh

On the contrary,  I think the pairing was quite perfect.  Just one we didn't need to see..........or one that should've taken place at the beginning of the VZ thing.  At this point,  the platform is above keyshia and Ashanti

Why do you think it's above Keyshia and Ashanti? I mean it's not like they were one hit wonder flops. They both had successful careers

We just been moving up and up. We on legends and shit now.  I feel like having them was a step BACK and I think alot of people feel that way.  This was the only vz I saw more people clowning the participants rather than actually celebrating them

They need to get them back in the same room again and have an actual band, background singers, or whatever. Like, give us an actual SHOW. I get that. And at first when the lockdowns just started, we was cool with it. Now its just tired and they gotta do something diff to spice shit up. Going back to Bennie and Bounty again, they didnt have a band or anything huge, but they put on a SHOW show. But I guess dancehall artists are known for that. Unrehearsed, just gimme a mic and they clash. Play a random instrumental and I'll sing / spit all my songs on it and go back and forth with it.

I honestly tuned in and watched them do their 1st songs and after that, I was like, aint no way I'm gonna sit thru 2hrs of them doing this shit. ESPECIALLY when the chemistry was so off and u can tell Keyshia's ass was in a bad mood from the very beginning. She herself didnt wanna just sit her ass down in a chair.

Forget the band and bg singers then. Have the DJs side by side, artists stand side by side, no sitting down, and go at it. Instead of having their hype men out of the camera view, show them going off. Even the Brandy / Monica Verzuz, it woulda been cool to see Sonja, Ray J, Camper go awfff w/ Bran doing the I Wanna Be Down dance. Woulda been cute to see Brandy and Ray J dancing and singing along to Best Friend. Make it a fucking party!! Clubs are opened now - folks aint gotta sit down and watch a Verzuz battle to be entertained anymore.

I thought Camper and Ray J were annoying AF at first, but during rewatches it made it more fun. The only problem was that it was only one sided and it made it more awkward because Monica's people weren't as hype.

I think Verzuz needs to figure out whether to keep it scaled back or go full all out. Either have these people in their homes and relaxed ( no frills) so we can chill to it, or go all out and put on a real show in the same space (when its safe) so we can party to it.
